Mormons are encouraged to meditate, but we combine meditation with sincere prayer. The object is to become closer to the Savior, Jesus Christ. The Lord says, "Be still. And know that I am God." Therefore, we try to find a private place in which to be still and pray. Being still helps us to receive and to perceive answers to our questions, problems, and knowledge seeking. The Holy Ghost conveys revelation from God to us as we meditate. A favorite place to meditate is in the Holy Mormon Temples, which are literally houses of God. Temples are quiet and filled with light. They are very peaceful. Mormons expect to receive personal revelation when they go to the temple to meditate.

Kelly, there are many organizations with charity projects in Africa that are reviewed on this website. Some have links to their websites, others will need an internet search using key words. I'm sorry that I don't have specific information on this family to offer you. Maybe someone will see your comment and offer that information.

I am a 19 years old lds student in pre-nursing at the University of North carolina in Greensboro. I have a strong desire to take a semester off and spend 2-3 months or so in Africa volunteering and experiencing the culture. It is something I have been saving for and looking forward to, but am having a hard time finding somewhere to stay, who to go through, etc. do you know if this family has any connections that way, or are willing to have a willing and able helper come stay with them? thanks.

Hi .. . am looking for a LDS Hymn heard some time ago: O Saviour Stay this Night With Me. Do you know it and the words in it?

Will help with the quilt mission, as best as I am able . . .at this point of my life. Let me know in what way may I help . . .i.e. if it is feasible for me . . .

thanks . . .

The complete article that this information was taken from is published at:
http://www.ldschurchnews.com/articles/59899/Mongolians-are-becoming-master-gardeners.html

Your last sentence is inaccurate. You concluded, "Lush, large gardens have been a blessing for all the participants in the project." Some of the participants of DIC's project have been blessed with lush, large gardens, but not ALL. Many are still learning how to garden. Hopefully, those who are still learning will follow the example set by the master gardeners.
